A personality test for personal training clients
A personality test for personal training clients only earns its place if it changes how you coach the next session. The Read is built for that. Your client answers the questions, and what comes back is written in terms of what to do with them in the next session. It gives you the tools and context you need to connect with them like you've known them for years, from day one.
What your client actually does
You send one link. There is no account to create and no app to download. Your client answers a 10-minute set of questions on their own time, from a phone or a laptop. That is the entire ask you are making of them. You do not have to sit with them while they take it, and you do not have to walk them through the results afterward.
What your client gets back
Two reports go out by email. Your client gets a version written for them: how they respond to feedback, what tends to keep them going, and where their consistency usually breaks down. They know you get a report too and that keeps them honest because they know the results won't disappear into a back office drawer.
What you get back
Your version carries the coaching guidance. How to deliver critiques that land. What motivates this person versus what only sounds motivating. How they behave when work or home life gets heavy. The early signs they are pulling away, while there is still time to do something about it. The coach side is covered in more depth on the page for the client personality assessment for personal trainers.
When to send it
Two moments work best. The first is onboarding, next to the intake form, before you have built months of habits with this person that you would have to unlearn. The second is a client you have had for a while who has stalled and you cannot work out why. You already know their numbers, their schedule, and their injury history. The test fills in the part you have been guessing at, which is what this person needs from you in order to keep showing up.
Is it a real test, or a quiz?
The Read is built on the Big Five personality model, along with attachment style and motivation type. Those are the frameworks personality research actually uses, not colors, animal types, or vaguely complimentary labels. The Read scores those traits and then translates them into what they mean for programming, communication, and accountability with this specific client. No certification course, no interpretation manual.
What it costs
Every new account starts with two free reads, so you can send the test to real clients before you pay anything. After that, plans start at $19.99 a month for 10 reads.
